IJAR, International Journal of Advanced Research, strives for the
involvement of academic community by initiating dialogues and
interactions. Instituted in 2010, IJAR has taken various issues of
interdisciplinary research value into its discursive platform. It also
aims to accentuate the importance of research in academia by providing
a forum for the researchers, academicians and students to impart and
share knowledge from diverse domains. It discourses wide-ranging
topics from socio- cultural realms that have both national and
international significance.
The current volume has given special focus
to the topics concerning citizenship, nationality and representative
democracy that are burning issues in the socio political scenario of
our country. The multi-dimensional representations and
re-presentations of our country and its people need research inquiry
and the same have to be recorded since the situations are compelling
one to register his/her academic and political engagement. Nation,
being a discourse, goes beyond law and places. The articles in this
volume too go beyond the confined territories of theory critiquing the
spatialities of citizenship, reflecting and debating the legal bonds
between the state and individual. The articles, published here
primarily raise questions about the heart core of nation and
nationality especially in the distressed national scenario. The shift
in the paradigms of human and state interventions is observed to see
the shapes of nationality and democracy today.
